The other day, I was at my LYS Great Yarns! while the shop owner and staff were going through the shop listing items they were planning to bring to the Seattle Sewing Expo at the Puyallup Fairgrounds next month.
As they were going through the shop, a comment was made that the Flat Feet weren’t selling as well as regular Sock Yarn and that maybe we should come up with other items to make other than socks with Flat Feet.
As the resident Crocheter on staff, I took this challenge and after looking at the different colors we had in stock, I came up with a cool new design. It’s still in progress.. but will Launch at the Sewing Expo.
But I have a question for all of you out there…
What would you / have you crocheted
with Flat Feet?
If you would like to receive a free copy of this new pattern, Post a reply to this post with your answer to the above question. I will continue to take responses until Friday, February 26, 2010. I will draw the winner on Sunday, February 28, 2010.

I haven’t used Flat Feet yet, have used other sock yarns to work off the foot. The fine yarns can make lovely garments with delicate stitches. I think scarves, gantlets, and tams are perfect for trying out fine yarns.
While I have found Flat Feet to be an interesting option, I am just now crocheting my first pair of socks for Ravelympics and have honestly not considered making anything else with them. You are making me rethink what else could be done with these pre-dyed knit blanks. I bet something like Elizabeth Zimmerman’s “Baby Surprise Jacket” would look great with this yarn.

Cowls are my new favorite thing(s) to knit to I would have definitely made one. Probably in a pretty lace pattern. <3
I made a pair of armwarmers once. They had open fingers, a spot for a thumb and went almost to my elbow. It turned out really good.
I think that I would make a hat. It’s always interesting to see how ombre yarns comes out in a spiral.

I’ve never even heard of Flat Feet, but I’ve used sock yarn for scarves, baby garments and (my favorite) a French beret with the little tab on top!
I have used Flat Feet to crochet a scarf that needed a yarn with a nice variation of color.
I would have crocheted a shawl.
I like to make hats for newborns with all kinds of sock yarn so I probably would have crocheted some version of a Finnish beanie.
I have never used Flat Feet, but I am always up for a challenge and would really enjoy learning to use a new type of yarn. I’m thinking slippers would be a nice project using a new yarn.
